Invitation to Athens Boat Show 2017

AZIMOUTHIO YACHTING INFO is participating as an exhibitor in the Athens Boat Show 2017 and we warmly invite you to our Stand!

Athens Boat Show is setting sail from Thursday 23rd to Monday 27th of November 2017 at the top maritime event of the year, which will take place at the Olympic Fencing Center.
Every edition attracts thousands of enthusiasts from all over Greece and abroad who await to get informed about all the latest products and services in the market.
Athens boat show is aimed at all those who love marine recreation, extreme sports and marine tourism, as well as those who engage professionally or not, with water sports, fishing and diving.

Benetti is attending the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from November 1 to 5, presenting the US premiere of M/Y Skyler, the third unit in the Benetti Fast 125’ range, and Mediterraneo 116’ M/Y OLI. During the boat show, the shipbuilder will present a preview of four new custom yacht projects in the BNow class developed jointly with RWD.

Making its US debut at Fort Lauderdale, M/Y Skyler (38 meters long and 8.3 meters wide), the third unit in the Benetti Fast 125’ range, is a semi-wide body yacht with four decks and five cabins: the owner’s suite, three double cabins and a cabin with twin beds plus space for a third. The crew accommodation has berths for seven crew members.Benetti MY Skyler-1
The exteriors, designed by Stefano Righini, feature big horizontal glazed surfaces that accentuate the yacht’s streamlined appearance, as well as an unusual central element on one side of the superstructure, which covers the stairway to the Upper Deck. The interiors by RWD, working with Benetti’s in-house design team, stand out for their contemporary design and clean, simple lines that bring out the natural elegance of the precious materials used for the decorations. This model features numerous pieces of loose furniture by leading design brands, including Glyn Peter Machin, Sutherland, Minotti and Meridiani.
The Azipull Carbon 65 (AZP C65) propulsion system, designed by Rolls Royce specifically for this line, is a lightweight, high performance, steerable thruster made entirely from carbon fiber that offers excellent manoeuvrability both in transit and in port. A joystick on the bridge makes mooring a safe and simple operation, while ‘stay on spot’ technology keeps the boat in the position set on the GPS, without mooring or dropping anchor. Navigation is also remarkably quiet, because the reduced weight of the Azipull unit means the engine room can be situated closer to the stern, and so further away from the cabins. Top speed is 22 knots.

The 35.5-meter M/Y OLI, the first unit in the new Mediterraneo 116’ line, brings with it a whole series of innovations at technical, stylistic and interior layout level, making this model one of the finest expressions of Benetti style.
This yacht is characterized by light as dominant feature, thanks to meticulously crafted surfaces, impressive 3-meter long windows, and a big crystal glass door on the Main Deck.
The sleek, streamlined exteriors by Giorgio Maria Cassetta Design draw on classic signs and proportions, but give them a contemporary twist. Luminosity, harmony and continuity are the main features of the interiors, which have four double cabins: two VIP suites aft, plus two more cabins with twin beds. Crew accommodation for a total of
seven crew is provided by three double cabins, plus the captain’s cabin on the Upper Deck.
The interiors are decorated using one single wood variety, enriched with polished steel inserts and detailing. The furniture, chosen from top-of-the-range brands, is minimal and sophisticated and there are various colour contrasts, obtained in particular by using matt finish White Statuary and Nero Marquina Marble in all the bathrooms.

The two Man V-12-1400 engines deliver 1,400 hp each and drive the yacht to a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of about 14 knots. The yacht’s range at 10 knots is 3,000 nautical miles.

During the second day of the show, Benetti will also be holding a press conference to unveil four newly developed models in the BNow class, which offer extensive opportunities for customization and reduced delivery times. These new steel and aluminum yachts were developed jointly with RWD and represent an extension of the close cooperation between Benetti and the British studio, which was announced during the Cannes Boat show with the reveal of the new 130’ GRP boat “OASIS”, from the Lifestyle range.

Benetti will be at the Fort Lauderdale Yacht Show, Hall of Fame Superyacht Life #5.

CMC Marine will take part for its first time in the US boat show, displaying its HS System. The Company has been present on the US market since few years, and expects to consolidate its position in the near future. In the meanwhile CMC Marine products keeps meeting owners and shipyards’ expectation, while it grows the number of American yachts equipped with CMC Marine’ systems.HS_High Speed System (1)

CMC Marine will be at the next Fort Lauderdale Boat Show 2017, held from November 1 to 5, where it will exhibit it HS – High Speed System – stabilizing system with 1sqm fin, that has already been at the center of attention during the fall European boat shows. HS is a further development of the SE Stabilis Electra system and has been designed specifically for planing hull faster than 24 knots.
Compared to the SE stabilizers, the new system features several novelties, such as un upgraded blades profile, that ensures improved performance by dramatically reducing the resistance, and the adoption of the latest generation technology, to deliver better performance together with further weight reductions. The HS system also offer the possibility of integrating and controlling different support surfaces (rudder or intruder) in combination with the stabilizing fins.
US is a key market for CMC Marine: in the United States, South America and Caribbean waters cruises over one hundred yachts equipped with CMC Marine systems. The Tuscan Company is therefore a consolidated reality in these territories: it oversees the non-European market thanks to the sale to shipyards that produces directly in the United States, guaranteeing them the same quality of the support and assistance service provided in Europe.

Alessandro Cappiello, CMC Marine CEO, comments the participation at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show 2017: “This boat show is a further occasion for CMC Marine to expand towards the overseas market, enriching our network of contacts and knowledge. We want to strengthen our brand in a market that has great potentials, where we are already heavily present but, at the same time, non-professionals still have to recognize us as top players in the industry”.

Evo Yachts will be at the American boat show with the T-top full carbon version of its 13-metre yacht, enhanced with more custom solutions specifically designed for the US clients.

October 2017. Evo Yachts will be at the next Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the most important and successful nautical event in the US, at its 59th edition, scheduled from 1 to 5 November.Evo Yachts at FLIBS 2017_e-card

Displayed at the stand of GMarine – exclusive Evo Yachts dealer for Florida, Mexico and the Caribbean, the Evo 43’ HT US version features many characteristics that will rightful place it among the undisputed protagonists of the Boat Show: the Pearl White colour, the light blue windshield and the exterior light grey coloured cushions enhance the elegance of the lines. The full carbon latest generation T-top debuts in the US, gifting guests on board with shadow and the boat with an even more aggressive and glamourous touch. This innovative model is also provided with options specifically developed for the American market: a double BBQ grill, an icemaker and a microwave oven in the dinette and the “tropical” air conditioning are created to meet the American owners’ needs.

Designed by Studio Tecnico Rivellini, with interiors and exteriors by Valerio Rivellini, and built by Blu Emme Yachts, Evo 43’ already had a great success internationally, thanks to the minimalist design that characterises all Evo Yachts models and to the technological innovations that meet perfectly aesthetic and functionality, such as the “XTension” stern sidewalls – which allow to create a full custom beach area, the platform “Transformer” that can be used as swim ladder, diving platform or as tender or water toys lift. Another characteristic of this day cruiser is the latest generation home automation that allows to manage the boat simply using a smartphone or a tablet.

Excellent navigation performances also join the flawless style of the Made in Italy and the hi-tech solutions on board: the V shaped hull features a 18° deadrise angle and the engines room hosts 2 VOLVO PENTA IPS 600 – 435 hp, thanks to which the yacht can reach the top speed of 38 knots and a cruise speed around 30 knots.

The presence in the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show confirms the already proven success of Evo Yachts overseas – thanks to the strong partnership with GMarine – and the growth of the sales network in Europe and across the world. In the meantime, the production plan of the Italian shipyard continues its progress: Evo Yachts has recently presented the new model Evo WA, whose distinctive characteristic is the possibility to easily move between the stern area and the bow walking around the helm station.

After its success at this season’s European boat shows, Azimut Yachts takes its fleet to the United States where it will be on display at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show from November 1st to November 5th.
18 yachts moored at Dock E, from the Verve 40, the weekender presented for the first time at FLIBS 2016, and the Azimut Grande 30 Metri, to all the other best-selling models from the shipyard’s five Collections. The true protagonist, however, will be the new Azimut S7 at her American debut.

EVO YACHTS at the Barcelona Boat Show

Spanish debut for the brand-new EVO WA and a new partnership with the Probrava Group: this is how Evo Yachts announces its participation at the Barcelona International Boat Show.
Evo Yachts is proud to announce its participation at the Barcelona International Boat Show, scheduled from October 11th to 15th at the Port Vell of the Catalonian city, where the new Evo WA will be displayed. The participation at the boat show is the result of the recent distribution contract signed with Probrava Group, which will represent Evo Yachts in continental Spain.
Probrava Group, which has been in activity for 25 years and received several awards to its commercial achievements, can count on a wide distribution network in 3 locations – Costa Brava, Barcelona and Costa Blanca – and on a highly-experienced team of more than 30 professionals. Probrava is the most important nautical broker in the Iberian Peninsula and offers many services to follow the owners not only during the sale but also in the post-sales.
The Salón Náutico will also be the occasion for the Spanish premiere of Evo Walk Around, a 13-metre yacht with a beach area that can be expanded thanks to the hydraulic system XTension, designed by the Studio Rivellini with the idea of creating a boat in line with the elegant and contemporary style of the shipyard, but with a more sporty and dynamic attitude.
Characterised by clean and essential lines together with a minimalist design, this model receives its name from its main distinctive element: the possibility to easily move between the stern beach area and the bow of the boat. Another peculiarity of Evo WA is the extreme modularity of the customisable spaces with hydraulic retractable chase longue, tables, hard top or bimini, state-of-the-art home-automation system and countless possibilities of personalisation: from the colour of the hull to the tapestry of interiors and exteriors.

Evo Walk Around has 2 VOLVO PENTA IPS 600 – 435 hp engines, which give the yacht a top speed of 38 knots and a cruising speedEvo WA of 28 knots.

Evo WA will be displayed at the A216 stand and will be available for visits on board and sea trials.

Tanker Conference tackles cybercrime issues

The second annual The Maritime Standard Tanker Conference, which takes place on Tuesday 24th October at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Dubai, has assembled some of the leading names in the industry to speak at the event. Collectively they will address the top issues facing tanker owners and operators today, making this a must-attend occasion for anyone involved in the oil, products and chemical tanker business.

4th September, Dubai, UAE: Cybercrime is a matter of growing international concern within the tanker shipping sector and The Maritime Standard has responded by making this a key topic for this year’s event. Trevor Pereira, managing director, says, “We have received phenomenal support from the shipping industry for this conference, including the backing of the world’s biggest shipping Philip Tinsley, Maritime Security Manager, BIMCOorganisation, BIMCO. One of the highlights of the day is sure to be the presentation by Phil Tinsley, BIMCO’s maritime security manager. This will be an informative session and a timely reminder that cyber security should be on everyone’s agenda.”

Mr. Tinsley will illustrate the potential threats from cyber incidents and give advice about how to mitigate those risks through awareness and training. BIMCO’s recently updated industry guidelines will be explained, and attendees will be given an insight into future regulations which will require action by the industry from 2021 onwards, as part of ships’ Safety Management Systems.

Mr. Tinsley says, “The recent NotPetya ransomware attack and the spoofing of GPS signals in the Black Sea illustrate cybercrime is on the increase in all sectors of the maritime industry. Companies need to be aware of how to handle phishing emails, and to have policies in place to ensure operational and information technologies are separated on board.”

The keynote speech will be given by H.E. Trevor Pereira adds, “This is quite simply the finest assembly of the best known names in the region’s tanker trade and related industries. We hope to add a few more high profile speakers in the next few weeks, so watch this space!”

The quality of The Maritime Standard Tanker Conference has also won the support of several leading organisations as sponsors and supporters. -New appointments for Commercial Director and Agency Director
-Growing focus on marketing and communications
-New office in French Riviera’s Golfe Juan yachting hub
French custom-yacht builder Couach Yachts has announced a number of new appointments in its sales and marketing divisions, in addition to the opening of a new Côte d’Azur office in Golfe Juan. The announcement follows a number of developments for the company over the last 12 months, as a part of its long-terms strategy for growth.

Couach has hired a Commercial Director and supporting Agency Director in two key roles that will both enhance the new customer experience as well as improve long-term relationships with its client base. To support its sales team, Couach’s marketing department is also demonstrating new growth.

Mauricio Weiszberger joined the Couach team as Commercial Director at the start of the year. He has spent the last two decadeAZIMOUTHIO YACHTING INFO MARINE YACHTING SAILING SHIPPING DIRECTORYs in the luxury yachting business, including gaining operational experience in the deck and engineering departments on superyachts, followed by a role as construction operations manager on new build projects.
Before joining Couach, Weiszberger worked for a decade as an after-sales manager at a yacht builder for vessels between 20 and 60 metres, making his combination of operational and commercial experience a perfect fit for the new role at Couach. Born in Chile, Weisberger speaks four languages, including English, Spanish, French and Italian.
In a newly developed, client-facing role at the company’s recently opened Golfe Juan office, Edward Mortleman will be taking the company into new territory for customer service as Couach’s Agency Director, at the service of yacht owners, brokers and captains.
Having grown up on the water, Mortleman’s parents owned and ran a charter yacht, so from his teenage years he assisted in operations as crew. His professional yachting career has subsequently included work as a crew recruiter as well as an office manager for commercial operations of shipyards.

Over a year and a half at Couach Yachts, Camille Pinel has worked closely with senior management, in particular with CEO Walter Ceglia, to forge a new direction of growth and development for Couach yachts department. She has stepped up into the role of Marketing & Communications Manager, with the responsibility of expressing the evolving vision of the company to the world.
Pinel grew up in the maritime environment, having spent her youth in the Middle East, where her father worked in construction for the naval and the commercial marine industries. After extensive global travel and gaining a masters in International Management of Marketing and Communications in France, she joined Couach in 2016. Her objective is to develop the Couach brand and augment the customer experience through fresh marketing practices, providing strong support to the growing commercial team.
Walter Ceglia, CEO of Couach Yachts, commented on the announcements: “I am thrilled to welcome Mauricio and Edward into the tight-knit team at Couach Yachts. Their experience and knowledge in the business is outstanding, and their enthusiasm and professional approach are perfectly in line with our yard’s Arcachon-based team. Our new office in Golfe Juan is located at the global heart of luxury yachting, offering convenience and practicality for our customer base, whether existing or new clients. After the new appointments and new ranges announced over the last 12 months, as well as our revamped communications strategy led by the highly capable Camille, we are entering an even more exciting time for Couach Yachts.”AZIMOUTHIO YACHTING INFO MARINE YACHTING SAILING SHIPPING DIRECTORY

This year Couach is celebrating its 120th anniversary, and it has already been a busy start to the year for the yacht builder. In recent months, Couach has delivered the fifth unit of its 23-metre 2300 FLY model and the fully-custom 44.8-metre 4400 FAST FLY, as well as revealed designs for a reimagined 37-metre 3700 Sport model.

Heir from Couach family passion for navigation, the Girondin shipbuilder is today, one of the oldest French shipyards. The values that Couach has held over its 120 years of history have transcended time and engrained in its DNA.
Since 1897, Couach perpetuates the nautical tradition and has led the shipyard to excellence. This can be seen in the yard’s greatest respect for French luxury practices, which are realised in its “taylor-made” luxury yachts. Teaming up with international Navies and Governments, Couach also proposes military and professionals vessels, well-known for their performance.
Authenticity of craftsmanship and incomparable performance are the exceptional Couach trademarks. From 11 metres in length up to 50 metres, these vessels fully constructed in composite materials, have always been created hand in hand with our customers.
Today, Couach is a brand that aims for the perfect balance between authenticity and modernism.

Launched last year by TYHA and MIA, joint operators of the Gold Anchor award scheme, the new Platinum accreditation has been designed to recognise the world’s finest superyacht marinas.
TYHA’s General Manager Jon White commented: “Our assessor conducted an exhaustive procedure to ensure that all of the scheme’s criteria were met before the report was reviewed by the standards panels of both The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA) and the Marina Industries Association (MIA)”.
Gold Anchor Assessor Tony Dye added: “The level of refinement at Porto Montenegro included on jetty air-conditioned waste facilities to prevent odours, on-site fire brigade team, state-of-the-art fuel service and high levels of environmental maAZIMOUTHIO YACHTING INFO MARINE YACHTING SAILING SHIPPING DIRECTORYnagement. “Being the first and only Platinum marina in the world today is a credit to the tireless dedication of the entire Porto Montenegro team, without whom none of this would be possible.“
“At a strategic level, the Montenegrin government should also be recognized for having grasped the opportunities presented by high-end nautical tourism for the local population and for supporting our efforts right from the start.”

The basic concept underpinning this Benetti superyacht is reflected in its name – SEASENSE – which has been translated into a design that revolves around the relationship with the surrounding environment. In fact, the owner wanted the outdoor areas to be as spacious as possible, to offer the maximum possible contact with the sea. In particular, the stern area of the main deck is given over to a big pool with a sun-lounging area connected to the peculiar main salon that, through the opening of big sliding doors, provides even more outdoor space for guests.
FB268 SEASENSE – fitted with 2 1380kW Caterpillar engines, it has a top speed of 15.5 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots. The range at a cost effective speed of 12 knots is 5,000 nautical miles.

Delivery is scheduled for the end of July 2017.

– This 7.45 meter model can count on the interior space of much longer boats
– The smooth riding hull shape ensures comfortable sailing and can handle up to 250hp
– The official presentation will be at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2017

Invictus Yacht is ready to officially present to the public their new 240CX, a model guaranteeing comfortable and livable interiors in aINVICTUS2 boat only 7.45 meters long. This model will be officially presented during the Cannes Yachting Festival 2017 (12-17 September).

The CX range has several characteristics in common with the “X” range, especially the vertical steering position that provides very precise steering thanks to its correct ergonomics.
As with all the yard’s ranges, the CX range is designed by Christian Grande, the perfect symbol of Italian style incarnated by Invictus Yacht. Interior volumes are much larger than those of comparable competitors of the same length, yet the 240CX maintains its sporting lines thanks to the balance between the hull design and deck profile. Very close attention has been paid to the finishings and detailing, not only their materials but also their chromatic contrasts.

Just like her larger sister the 280CX, this refined vessel was conceived to include a concentrate of high quality extras and comfort in a limited space. The rapport between her size (7.45 meters long with a 2.5 meter beam) and incredibly large interior spaces gives this model of the gamma the maximum in livability. Below decks feature an open space with a bathroom corner where the WC folds away into a special cabinet. Guaranteeing ample storage space, a particularly large locker is located to the left of the companionway. All this in a very luminous environment, thanks to long twin windows in the hull that increase exterior visibility and reduce the impact of the hull as an architectural barrier.
The steering position is vertically oriented allowing for a particularly precise steering experience thanks to carefully studied ergonomics. The heart of the day zone is located in the center of the boat, with a stand-up driving seat allowing for a particularly precise steering experience thanks to carefully studied ergonomics, but which can be easily transformed into an element of the aft dining area, dedicated to all those who love to use their boat in conviviality. This transformable system is standard equipment. Protection from the sun is also included, thanks to a fold-away bimini top that covers the whole living area.INVICTUS4
The close attention paid to finishings and space optimization must not overshadow the especially seaworthy hull shape which allows for excellent control and a smooth ride even in choppy seas and can carry up to 250 hp in outboard power.

The new Invictus 240 CX will be officially presented during the next Cannes Yachting Festival 2017 (12-17 September); an occasion that the Italian yard is preparing in great style and passion.
The French boat show will host the Invictus flagship, the 370GT, plus the 280GT, the 280CX, the 200HX – also in her world premier at the French salon – , and the FX gamma’s 200, 240 and the 270.

Invictus was created as a challenge: to offer to the national and international yachting market a new reference point for pleasure yachting. The symbol created for the yard was not chosen by chance: a shield with a cross represents important values: beauty, strength, protection and trust, elaborated through the experience and tradition of the Italian nautical sector. Invictus is represented by the GT (370, 280), TT(280), FX(270,240,200,190), SX(280) and the CX (240, 280) and SX (280) designed and built applying the qualities that have made Italian shipyards the most esteemed in the world for their refined aesthetics, materials, state of the art assembly, dependability, versatility and long life. Thanks to their collaboration with the famous Cristian Grande DesignWorks studios, Invictus has brought a high level of technology and design to their vessels.
These elements have allowed them to define a clear conception of a yacht: beautiful and comfortable, well equipped and completed with a maniacal attention to details, ready for any kind of use and sea condition.

Christian Grande is one of the youngest Italian designers to become part of the palmares of yacht designers. He has designed innovative vessels since 1992, courageously creating innovative yachts that will later become corner stones in nautical design. Presently Cristian has completed over 100 yacht designs and been presented with more than 16 international awards. He has also collaborated with Sacs and San Lorenzo in addition to overseeing styling and design for the entire Invictus Yacht gamma.

– A people-centred yacht that will allow owner and guests alike to live in close contact with the surrounding environment whilst fully resArcadia2pecting Mother Nature herself
– Around 100 square metres of communal living space on the main deck alone
– As a result, the A85S features the innovative new sky lounge concept which can convert to a third entirely enclosed deck complete with side windows
– A massive 36 sqm of new-generation photovoltaic cells deliver 3.5 kW of power
– The A85S will be one of the stars of the 2017 Cannes Yachting Festival where it will be flanked by the rest of the ARCADIA YACHTS fleet

Having revolutionised the international nautical market since 2010 with a string of yachts designed to deliberately blur the confines between interior and exterior, the ARCADIA YACHTS yard looks set to astonish the sector once again with the new A85S, a boat that delivers an incredibly generous amount of guest space for its 25.9-metre length.
The layout and functional aspects of the living space aboard the A85S are the result of a deliberate evolution of the yard’s construction processes. The linear design of the superstructure and vertical line of the bow guarantee optimal use is made of every single inch of available space, both interior and exterior. The perfect case in point is the exceptionally generous living area which is significantly larger than that found on other yachts of the same dimension and, in fact, results in around 100 square metres of communArcadia5al space on the main deck alone.
The uniqueness of the ARCADIA YACHTS philosophy in general and the A85S in particular springs from a desire to place people at the centre of each new project. This changes the whole meaning and experience of seafaring and allowing all aboard to enjoy exceptionally close contact with the surrounding environment.
At 25.9 metres (84’11”) in length, the A85S has a maximum displacement of 75 tonnes. It also sports twin 730 hp MAN diesel engines which guarantee a maximum speed of 18 knots. The new yacht cruises confidently at 16 knots too. Equally, it can cruise in displacement mode at the slightly lower speed of 12 knots to allow those aboard to enjoy the most pleasurable part of any cruise. The A85S has a range of approximately 850 nm @ 12 knots.

All ARCADIA yachts are inspired by our desire to put the owner at centre stage, to create spaces that will cocoon him and his guests whilst still allowing all aboard to fully experience and live the natural land and seascape all around.
The A85S both reflects and further refines the yard’s philosophy by offering a total and truly immersive experience of nature.
This is exactly why the A85S features the innovative sky-lounge concept which can convert to a third entirely enclosed deck, complete with Up & Down side windows that rise all the way up to the hard top at the touch of a button. This makes the whole of the upper deck much morArcadia3e flexible and usable in all kinds of weather. The space can be climate-controlled in very hot climes or in foul weather or left open to the air to allow occupants enjoy the sea breeze in summer. A significant departure from the usual offerings on the market as this particular space really can be utilised 365 days a year.

In design terms, the A85S is simple and sober in style, featuring a harmonious mix of interior and exterior areas. The enclosed spaces, in fact, seem to meld with the surround nature and sea. The heady scent of the sea, its soft sounds and reflections off the water flood the interior, creating the feeling that it is one with the elements.
The sky lounge is home not simply to the high-tech bridge but also a large convivial area which, as already indicated, can be enjoyed right throughout the year by owner and guests.
ARCADIA has also created a large C-shaped sofa and an adjustable-height table forward on the main deck which transforms this particular space into a large sunning area.
The deckhouse is almost entirely comprised of double-glazed reflective glass, lending the interior a bright airiness. Automatic blinds on the ceiling and side windows offer the owner and his guests complete privacy in port or even riding at anchor out in a bay. The A85S’s main saloon is extremely cosy and also has an eight-seater dining table forward which can be served directly from the galley, thanks to a vertically sliding hatch. There is even a separate day add for visiting guests.
The elegant winter garden leads to the spacious aft-deck lounge which is 8.5 metres in length and has a nicely-sheltered cockpit with a second table that’s perfect for suppers and dinners as well as a large sunning area further aft. The exterior aft deck is itself well-sheltered and offers guests an excellent alternative to the interior. In fact, it is somewhere they can spend much of their time. The imposing size of the aft deck allows both oArcadia4wner and guests to enjoy the sea as fully as possible and to feel surrounded by it, thanks to the presence of two side balconies that further enhance the sense of communion with the world around them.
The A85S is ideal for welcoming a large number of guests and, as such, for enjoying holidays with close friends and family. There are four cabins on the lower deck, including a spectacular 32 square metre master suite amidships with an en suite bathroom complete with a spacious wellness area. The roomy VIP stateroom forward has a double bed and also a walk-in closet. The remaining two guest cabins are twins. Additionally, there are quarters for four crew in the forward section of the A85S. The crew and technical areas are noteworthy and include a tender garage capable of stowing a four-metre-plus craft and a two-seater jet ski. ARCADIA YACHTS meticulously studied and designed the crew walkways through the yacht to guarantee absolute privacy to owner and guests at all times.
Furnishings from the leading Italian designer brands have been used through the A85S’s interior with plentiful individual stand-alone pieces that make a modular layout workable.

One of the A85S’s strongest attributes is, without a doubt, its exceptionally modest fuel consumption, which is an impressive 30-50% lower than other yachts of comparable dimensions. The same applies to its running costs. These results were delivered by its semi-planing NPL hull. The latter was developed after extensive testing by the National Physical Laboratory in England to ascertain the optimal hull form and also the most hydrodynamically efficient length-beam ratio. Combined with the particularly light ARCADIA YACHTS superstructure, this advanced hull delivers strikingly efficient performance figures even with modest horse power.

ARCADIA’s unique philosophy not only celebrates but also respects the natural environment. This ethos is expressed in practical form by the solar panels integrated into the superstructure. These actually reduce generator use so that guests can luxuriate in the sounds of nature – waves lapping, birds calling – while riding at anchor. Extensive use of leading-edge thermal-insulating glazing is further evidence of the yard’s commitment to its green principles too.
New generation photovoltaic cells are set between the outer and inner surfaces of the double-glazed solar panels fitted to most of the superstructure. This advanced, eco-friendly system of 36 sqm of panels, each comprising hundreds of photovoltaic cells, yields a power output of 3.5 kW. This is enough energy to to power many different electrical appliances and units, including fridges, water pumps, WCs, lights, A/V and electronics while the batteries recharge.
Given the fact that air-conditioning is often superfluous because of the large apertures in the winter garden and the way the sky lounge can be opened up, the A85S’s energy requirements are often met for the entire day by the solar panel system alone rather the generators. The result is a significant saving in diesel, slashed pollutant levels and zero emissions.

The A85S will be in good company on the water at the upcoming 2017 Cannes Yachting Festival (September 12 to 17). In fact, the Italian yard will be bringing its entire fleet from the Sherpa to the A115 flagship, via the A85 and the A100, to the event.

ECOTHINK – A “ green” approach reflects in everything we do, in our everyday life, at work and when making big decisions. This is a lifestyle that ARCADIA Yachts has managed to bring into the nautical sector through an idea that has combined together functional design and “ethical sense”, appreciation and respect for the environment. An “ecological idea” which translates into eco-friendly solutions, that reduces consumption and environmental impact. To enjoy the sea in a more free and responsible way. Because the future of yachting is a little greener every day.
ECOTECH – The most advanced technological research and the best Italian creativity to generate innovative and efficient solutions which define a new “sustainable” frontier in yachting:
> FUNCTIONAL DESIGN with a distinct personal touch, to better integrate shapes and components and reach the highest eco-friendly performance;
> Double glazing PANELS integrated within the superstructure. This feature ensures maximum comfort whilst recharging the batteries and powering all utilities and services on-board. This is the only way to reduce the use of generators;
> HYDRODYNAMIC EFFICIENCY of the semi-displacement hull which requires limited engine power, guaranteeing low consumption, emissions and maintenance costs;
> SOPHISTICATED SYSTEMS which provide waste water treatment to avoid pollution;
> Optional HYBRID PROPULSION to sail up to 8 knots with “zero emissions” in absolute silence;
> ARCADIA ASSEMBLING SYSTEM which minimizes the waste materials during the building stage, the use of paints, and helps reduce construction times.
THE SHIPYARD – The shipyard is located in the heart of the Mediterranean: a 36.000m2 facility where craftsmanship, modern technologies, attention to detail and the surrounding environment are perfectly blended together.
THE FLEET – A series of fiberglass yachts ranging from 58’ to 115’, with new plans to increase the top size from 145’ up to 180’, both in steel.

The name of the Da Vinci Tourbillon Rétrograde Chronograph alone reflects its unique status: on a single dial, it features a combination of a classic tourbillon, a chronograph and a retrograde date. IWC’s watchmakers have designed the new in-house 89900 calibre to make this distinctive constellation possible.

The most conspicuous feature of the 18-carat red gold Da Vinci Tourbillon Rétrograde Chronograph (Ref. IW393101) is the flying tourbillDA VINCI TOURBILLON RÉTROGRADE CHRONOGRAPHon. The tourbillon cage is bearing-mounted only at one end, on the underside, and is not connected to an upper bridge. The tourbillon also features a technically complex hacking function that guarantees down-to-the-second accuracy when setting the watch. When the crown is pulled out, two levers grip the balance rim like a clamp and block the mechanism consisting of the balance, wheel train and hands. New geometry in the pallet and escape wheel combined with diamond shell technology ensures that the watch’s 68-hour power reserve when fully wound is maintained despite the additional complications. Furthermore, the pallet and escape wheel are made of diamond-coated silicon, an extremely hard surface with good sliding properties that reduces friction and thus resistance, which in turn benefits the power reserve. The chronograph function at “12 o’clock” allows stopped times of up to 11 hours and 59 minutes, which can be read off as easily as the time of day. The central seconds hand measures stopped times to an accuracy of one-quarter of a second.

The third complication, besides the chronograph and the tourbillon, is the retrograde date display, located on the left-hand side of the dial. The hand shows the date from  the 1st to the 31st of the month as it moves across an arc and then, at the end of the scale, reverts to its starting point. In months with fewer than 31 days or when the watch has not been used for a while, the date display can be advanced rapidly and conveniently using the crown. Compared with a traditional date window, the analogue display turns the passage of time into a much more vivid experience.

The Da Vinci Tourbillon Rétrograde Chronograph’s precious red gold case with golden push-buttons and lugs has a carefully balanced appearance. The movable horns ensure that the dark brown alligator leather strap by Santoni with its 18-carat red gold folding clasp fits perfectly around the wrist. The harmonious arrangement of the three complications on the silver-plated dial, with the chronograph function at “12 o’clock”, follows the typical IWC pattern. The watch, which is water-resistant to 3 bar, has a transparent sapphire-glass back. Looking through it, we see the new IWC-manufactured 89900 calibre with its solid red gold rotor.
